Michael Dooley

Coaching staff

Coach Michael has loved athletics for longer than most of PBAC’s athletes have been able to run.  His passion for the sport led him from schoolboy athlete to little A’s parent to becoming a coach and establishing Personal Best Athletics Coaching in 2005.  Since that time, he hasn’t looked back.

Michael began his coaching career in 1999 at Port Hacking Little Athletics Club in Sydney.  Since that time, he has had extensive experience as Track Coach at SCEGGS Anglican School in Sydney; two Sports Travel Tours to Canada and the USA; and Coaching several NSW National All Schools relay teams.  Coach Michael’s areas of specialty include sprints, 400m and 800m.  Michael is the Head Coach at Personal Best Athletics Coaching.

In recent years, Michael has coached Olympians Ella Nelson (200m), Jessica Thornton (4x400m relay), and Anneliese Rubie (affiliate) (400m, 4x400m relay).  He has also coached Commonwealth Games representatives including Jake Hammond (4x100m relay) and Jarrod Geddes (4x100m relay).  Michael’s success at the elite level has included coaching athletes to the following international championships:
