We are a small team of Athletics Australia accredited coaches who pride ourselves on providing high quality coaching, in a fun yet professional environment.
Coach Michael has loved athletics for longer than most of our athletes have been able to run! His passion for the sport led him from schoolboy athlete to little A’s parent to Olympic coach. Coaching since 1999, Michael’s specialty events include 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m.
Michael is a level 4 International Amateur Athletics Federation qualified coach specialist in Sprints, Relays and Hurdles. As a coach, Michael is well-known for continually developing his skills and knowledge to help his athletes achieve higher goals. He has built coaching networks across the world and enjoys passing on his knowledge to other coaches.
In recent years, Michael has coached Olympians Ella Nelson, Jessica Thornton and Anneliese Rubie. He has also coached Commonwealth Games representatives Jake Hammond and Jarrod Geddes, and Youth Olympics medalists, Sam Geddes and Jessica Thornton. He has also coached dozens of State and National representatives throughout his career. In 2015 and 2016, Michael was named International Senior Coach of the Year by Athletics New South Wales.
‘Coach Cass’ oversees our junior sprint squads and is also our specialist hurdles coach. After more than a decade competing in little athletics and senior athletics, Cass began coaching in 2008 and has gone from strength to strength. She is focused on building her technical knowledge to further develop her coaching expertise.
Cass is a level 2 Athletics Australia qualified Intermediate Club Coach and has undertaken upskilling in coaching children through the International Amateur Athletics Federation. She is highly experienced in coaching juniors, working with students at primary schools across Sydney.
Cass’ junior squad members continue to improve through her coaching, with State and National representatives emerging, and Personal Bests being achieved on a regular basis.
Coach Zach, or ‘Speedy Z’ brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. An accomplished athlete in his own right, Zach knows what it takes to compete at the top level. Zach completed his level 1 Community Coaching course through Athletics Australia in 2017 and has been coaching ever since.
Zach works with athletes from a range of sporting backgrounds, including athletics, football, soccer and bobsled. He has worked with elite footballers and soccer players to improve their general speed and acceleration off the mark. He is interested in learning different techniques that he can implement into his sessions.
